What: IC 21 launched a year-long tree planting project to plant 350 trees in and around the Tetons. This kick-off event marked Jackson's celebration of 350.org's International Day of Climate Action. IC 21 will work with a host of partners (including schools, local governments and other organizations) to find homes for the 350 trees on public use land. IC 21's tree-planting program has been made possible through generous support from 1% for the Tetons.

What: Presentation by Ishmael Beah--former child soldier and best-selling author of A Long Way Gone. Followed by a panel discussion by board members from Schools for Salone (SfS), a Seatte-based non-profit dedicated to rebuilding schools in Sierra Leone in the wake of a terrrible civil war.

What: Presentation by Geoff O'Gara (author of "What You See in Clear Water," a book about the dispute over water rights in the Wind River Range) and James Trosper (Sun Dance chief of the Eastern Shoshone tribe and direct descendant of Chief Washakie). Mr. O'Gara and Mr. Trosper discussed the history of the Wind River Reservation and current issues facing the reservation today. This event was co-organized by IC 21 and the Teton County Library Foundation.
